Auburn Jewelry’s owner, Samantha Levine, offers private one-on-one lessons in Auburn Jewelry’s studios. Students sketch, design, and hand-make their very own one-of-a-kind works of wearable art.
Students learn all the fundamental metalsmithing techniques such as soldering, piercing, drilling and finishing by handcrafting their original designs.
Students start by sketching their original designs, which they will use to fabricate pieces of jewelry. Classes are structured based on the student’s wishes in a private and immersive learning environment with one-on-one instruction. While Samantha will encourage students to challenge themselves, the students’ goals and artistic visions remain a primary focus.
Students will not only leave with a newly acquired skillset, they will also take home their pieces to show off their new talent.

Levine’s enterprise includes hand-making sterling silver, gold and enamel jewelry and teaching courses at her Chappaqua, N.Y., studio. The latter began as a side business, she said, but has grown to rival her other offerings. She frequently hosts birthdays, girls nights and some bridal parties, during which guests can bring sketches from which Levine will help them craft custom jewelry. “You play with a blowtorch and leave with jewelry,” Levine said. “What’s better than that?”
